How do I deal with idle thoughts in everyday life? In the video you recommend linking body and mind. How do I do that? Do you mean if walking or talking I should link myself with those actions?

Completely become each and every action, place your awareness in your hands and feet, feeling them intensely and let your mind expend, opening all sense organs so that you can perceive the life energy of the moment completely.
