Even when I am alone I suffer from extreme sense of selfawareness when I am sitting in Zazen. It makes my breath stick in my throat and I cannot properly do the breathing exercises. Do you have any advise for a beginner becoming more comfortable in the idea of hisher practice?

When you stay with the practice and it ripens of its own, then your mind becomes more and more like a mirror, simply reflecting. No judgement, no criticism is being added, and thus you can accept and become each and every situation. Do not try to force or become anything special, entrusting that things will unfold as they need to. Please stay with the deep belief in the practice of zazen.
