I actively practice Rinzai zen since 1.5 year and my ground state is a state without thoughts. In everyday life I have difficulties making conversation as no thoughts are there to be expressed. I am a good listener but people need feedback and input. Should I force myself to think more?

When zazen becomes riper, and your mind is more settled, it is natural that there is no need to think about oneself. You become like a mirror. No comparisons, no judgements are present, while at the same time you understand the other person clearly. Whatever needs to be said will come of its own. You do not need to make any special efforts. Just stay with your practice of zazen, let it deepen and your state of mind ripen even more.
