When meditating should we concentrate on our breath watch ourselves feel the moment or simply sit and let things be without trying to attain?

Like Dogen Zenji said: "Think of not-thinking." This is what we actually bring to life, Not thinking! Yet it doesn´t mean to simply not think, yet all pores of your body are filled with your concentration, concentrating completely on not thinking. Not leaving behind any thoughts in your mind, your whole body and mind become one with the universe.
