Recently I experienced a deep personal loss. Through this loss I experienced in some small way going beyond my sorrow my loss and the person lost and experienced a moment of deep peace and abiding gratitude and yet to be able to stay with my loss and deep sorrow. Is this a teaching? Three bows.

Death is something quite sad and lonely, especially when it is about a person who was close. It can even happen that one has the feeling of a huge hole appearing. Yet if you say that your mind is quiet and thankful at times, that can only be because you had a good relationship with the passed away person. This kind of karmic connection is very special.
