Some say the Buddha advised practitioners to sleep about 4 hours per night. But when I sleep less than 7 hours my body feels unhealthy and my mind unclear. What is your view on sleep?
February 26, 2013, 11:34 amSleeping time is something very personal. The Buddha said to sleep for 4 hours to his monks. People who live in society and who have a different life style, for them it is very different. If Monks and people of training don´t have a daily rhythm of meditation, then the meaning of their training gets lost. Looking inside, raising one´s concentration in order to reach the source of one´s being, if we sleep too much, then our awareness is too involved in the outside, and we loose the inner sharp focus. Once our concentration has become deeper then we can sleep 3 or 4 hours and it is plenty. This is from my own experience.
