How extremely sad. The Buddha is most likely shedding tears. Also in Japan during the Second World War, priests would go to war holding guns. Right in front of the Buddha´s eyes, his own country crumbled. This is because the Buddha was strictly against any violence. Thus he was able to save his people, yet not the country. This is maybe the most important teaching in all of history. Now also in Japan the Buddhists traditions are repenting for their behavior, and are speaking up for no more wars and frictions in modern Japan. The same as the problem of the atomic reactor of Fukushima. BEFORE things happen, they need to be stopped. We need to raise our voices and demand this. We need to protect the mind of the Buddha.
