In many koan instructions a state is described when absorption in the questioning doubt mass is so strong that even in daily life one becomes oblivious to sounds sights feelings perceptions etc. Is this not contrary to the injunction to be clear and mindful?

Is your daily life incomplete? If it were, you wouldn´t be able to enter samadhi. The samadhi of daily life does not miss anything. There is nothing special there. Once your samadhi gets well ripened, then even this question will not come up any more. But that samadhi needs to ripen. Do not waste any time.

Due to Roshi's busy schedule this year, we are currently not accepting any new questions at this time
