There is no need to understand anything...

< Back to Question and Answer

During Zazen I reach sometimes a state where all thoughts subside, being watchful and attentive, this state can be prolonged and then even in normal life there is this total inner silence, the usual internal verbal chatter has stopped almost completly. Is this a good way to travel further?

Doing zazen and reaching that quiet place, is that okay like this? Right away that voice can be heard. The place when even that voice does not come up any more. There is no need to hold on to anything then, the need comes from the outside towards us. And when the need is finished, nothing remains.
