Dear Roshi Is there a way to lie down and sleep that supports the practice?

When I was in the monastery, many times I slept sitting up. And when you do this during a sesshin when the essence is deep, then it is of great meaning.

Yet when you are in a situation which does not allow for this high concentration, when you are busy and needing to work, carrying many responsibilities, then it is not easy to keep the mind clear. In daily life it is important to use the smallest amount of sleep possible to feel refreshed, and when the chance to deepen arises, then sitting up while sleeping is useful as well.
