You've said that we should use our desires and not be used by them. How do we do that?

To use desires but not be used by them. The only difference is whether he protect ourselves or whether he throw ourselves away. The Buddha would say: “You need to throw away the idea of an ego entity, personality, being and separated individuality.” If humans live according to their own desires alone, then society and humanity will loose its hope and possibility for change. And the wish for life itself would be lost. But if we look at it from the eyes of, what can we do for others, there are endless things that can be done in society. Because we see only our own small vessel, that is why we get used by our desires mistakenly.
