In my work as a lawyer I work with clients and others who are in a deep state of suffering and often do harmful things to themselves and others. How can I deepen my Dharma practice to understand and achieve a degree of equanimity with this? With a deep bow your response is appreciated.

If you are a lawyer that is exactly your job and responsibility. You need to have the vow and wish to guide people away from their mistaken path. That should have been the reason for you becoming a lawyer. It is as you were a surgeon saying I am scared to cut the flesh even though I can see the infection there.
