We are now living in a time where many meditative traditions and cultures meet it can be difficult to choose from this huge variety. It seems that mindfulness as taught by vipassana masters and koanzazen and shikantaze have a common core. Should we choose one exclusively or be open to variety?

Zen is not a “jewelry” to our life. It is
to awaken to the source of our own life. To awaken to the purpose as to why we
were born. There is nothing that melancholic as not knowing why you were born.
That is why there are many people who make problems for others so that they may
feel more satisfied. Whichever path you may chose, it is important to follow
only one, and that the teacher of that path has seen the source of his own life
energy.
