I meditate every day for several years already. However I'm still overpowered by emotions that devastate me anger disappointment and irritation. Sometimes those emotions arise right after a meditation session. How can I help myself and protect others from them?

When we practice zazen our energy ripens and becomes fuller, yet you are changing this energy into emotions. Usually the energy from zazen settles our emotions, yet you might be quite a sensitive type, yet remember, that emotions do not arise if they were not created by you. Please do make efforts that your emotions do not run loose. It is not the fault of zazen.
