Harada Roshi

< Back to Question and Answer

I'm a practitioner of Theravada school and I'd like to know what is the difference between practice of zazen and samatha vipassana.

I am not so knowledgeable about Theravada Buddhism, but the Buddha taught simply to just sit, and to practice the breathing of short inhalation, long exhalation. Since that time many different schools came about, but if we return to the basics of the breathing, all schools do not differ much.
