At the end of the exhalation when working with Mu we can rest for some time without feeling the need to inhale immediately. At this time what is the focus of our sitting? Do we continue to mentally repeat Mu Mu Mu or do we just rest and wait until we need to inhale naturally?

The exhalation should be about 8 seconds long. If you have no tension in your diaphragm, then your lower abdomen becomes flat. Exhale until the lower abdomen becomes flat. Exhale until you can´t exhale any further. And even from there, if you can push a little bit further, that is even better. With this last push, usually the inhalation starts. But when doing this kind of breathing, to simply entrust to the natural power. That is important. Like when the water pulls back on the shore and then returns with the next wave, there is a natural moment of return there. Entrust this natural flow. Do not pause with the breathing or else samadhi cannot develop.
