5 or 6 times during yaza on separate sesshins the breath has become like a fine machine and stops for long periods. The exhalation feels like riding on top of a wave with no effort required. Every object appeared very very distinct settled but totally separate. Should the objects not feel like One?

It is important to feel the depth of zazen. It becomes your encouragement to continue the pratice. Yet do not stay there - all joy, all settledness, all unsettledness is still created by your consciousness. There is also the world of illusions. These are images which you experience when your zazen gets deeper, yet they are not the point of practice. The point is to refresh, become reborn, awaken to wisdom. Where the past does not move you around anymore. You return to the state of mind of when you were born. All other images and illusions are an obstructions. Please do not stop mid-way.
