The zapote tree in our backyard is Full of delicious fruit! The birds and humans are happily spending much time with the tree these days.

I looked for and English word for this soft and sweet treat but could not find one. Zapote comes from the word "Zapotl" in Náhuatl (Aztec language) and even the fruit species is named zapotacea. So, maybe no chance to taste it in the Northern Hemisphere. Here is our wonderful picking zapote samu day in Mexico!!!
