This morning Tanaka Kimiko died in the old age home where she has been living for the past few years. Older sangha members remember her well, bringing peanut butter and jam, helping boil the Udon, quoting the weather report and whenever she brought Kaero (hot packs) to Sogenji, we knew it was about to get chilly. Harada Roshi offered to do her funeral. Her body will be brought to Sogenji today and the funeral ceremony will take place in Sogenji tomorrow while it is Osesshin first day. The world wide sangha is sending their prayers.
