Right next to the hot springs Onsen of Takebe is where Akaeda Sensei had his weekend residence. Being a busy medical doctor in Okayama, he would spend his weekends in this rural place, where he would also invite neighbours to sculpt together Bodhisattva statues as an expression of their vow. Below you can see some samples displayed in his garden in Takebe. He was also a long time support of Harada Roshi, inviting the sangha once a year to relax in the hot springs followed by a healthy meal.
