Direct Experience

We practice to let go of all our gathered clutter and experience our true source. We then directly experience our seeing and hearing again fitting perfectly with the experience. Leaving out the ongoing inner judgements and commentaries, no one taught us how to see yet we know how to use our eyes. The flowers bloom, the birds sing and we encounter this directly. But so often we are not directly seeing or hearing, depending on mental understanding for the perception of things. Due to that we do not grasp clearly and sharply. We see and hear yet we do not feel the awe of that experience. And so we keep making our input stronger and stronger so that we can feel again. Even while being given this life, we loose track of its deeper sense. That is what we use our zazen for - to return again to the straightforward experience of deep joy and wonder.
